Completed in 1972, the Transamerica Pyramid reopened in September 2024 following extensive renovation. The architect William Pereira’s design was so forward thinking it was immediately both controversial and world famous, becoming an icon of San Francisco’s skyline. This innovative spirit was what L’Observatoire strived to capture; with interior lighting establishing a clean, defined look, in a manner both respectful of the fabric, but that felt contemporary and articulated. At its pinnacle, the renovation of the historic ‘beacon’, redesigned with a state of the art, dynamic LED system, enables the pyramid to transform day to night, from plaza to pinnacle.
